I’d never attempted anywhere near the distance and had no idea what to expect of myself as the weekend unfolded.It was epic. One of the best weekends of my life. The route was superb and the weather perfect, but what really made the event so memorable was the people. I have done a few ultra marathons before but I have to say that there was something special about the team involved in this one. Whether it was because there’s not that many runners, or that some of the CP volunteers see us several times, but the interest and support shown by these people , and the encouragement and genuine belief in us to keep going and complete the race was something I’ve never experienced before. The delight on the faces of these volunteers as we crossed the finish line was such a beautiful moment too. They became like family, popping up here and there with advice, concern and all the food and drink we needed.So really I just want to say thank you. They didn’t just volunteer for the weekend, they became part of the experience and I wanted to share my appreciation with you.The whole weekend from start to finish was incredible. I’m still emotional when I talk about it. So proud to have completed the whole loop and absolutely certain we will be back to take part again in the future.

I just wanted to express my thanks for having me as part of the Ring O’ Fire. It was my first time running over 100k and oh boy did I learn a lot about myself. At no point more so than when the weather turned on Saturday afternoon. If I could individually thank every volunteer who made it such a special event I would. The aid stations were such welcoming havens, and I’m in awe of the logistics of moving the bags. I will recommend Ring O’ Fire to anyone silly enough to want to run 130 miles. It was beautiful and brutal but most importantly incredible. I can’t wait to visit Anglesey again (it was my first trip), and who knows Ring O’ Fire might come calling again but I’ll enjoy a well deserved break for a while before making any commitments. As before, thank you again. It will hold a special place in my memories and for that I’m truly grateful.
