Ambassador Programme

We have also started an ambassador programme, where some of our most inspiring runners step up to act as role models and coaches. These ambassadors help with recce training runs around the island, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm to motivate and guide new participants. Their leadership and support are invaluable in fostering a welcoming and encouraging environment for all.

I first discovered the Ring O’ Fire race in 2014 when my partner completed the original 135-mile coastal ultramarathon. Inspired by that experience, I returned the following year as a volunteer marshal. At that point, having never run farther than a 10k, I became fascinated by the concept of multi-day ultra running.

As I progressed in my own running distances, I continued to marshal every year, drawn back by the incredible event team who quickly felt like family, and the stunning scenery of the Ynys Môn coastline. By 2019, I entered the original 35.7-mile Firelighter race, and returned in 2021 for another Firelighter finish. By 2022, eight years after discovering the race, it felt time to take on the full Ring O’ Fire, and it has drawn me back every year since.

I was thrilled to be part of the new continuous format 130 mile & 50 mile races for 2025, and am excited to see yet another brilliant new addition to the RoF races lineup for 2026 with a Ring ‘O Fire relay option. Looking forward to seeing many faces existing and new in 2026!

I’m a runner based on Ynys Môn and the founder of MônGirlsRun, a women’s social running group focused on creating a welcoming, supportive and empowering space for women to get into running.

I’ve been running for almost three years now, and what started as a simple idea has grown into a community that’s about so much more than just running –it’s about building confidence, forming genuine friendships, and having a space where everyone feels comfortable to show up exactly as they are.

Seeing the group grow and watching so many women support each other, try something new, and achieve things they never thought they could has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

Alongside that, my own running has taken me further than I ever expected, from social runs to taking on bigger challenges, and this year I’m stepping into my biggest one yet with the Ring O’ Fire.

I’m really excited to be part of such an incredible event and to share the journey –the highs, the challenges, and everything in between. I’m also really looking forward to being part of the event and seeing so many of you there.

I ventured into the world of ultra marathons after completing numerous triathlons, 10ks, half marathons, and full marathons. The Ring O’ Fire, combined with the breathtaking Anglesey Coastal Path, was the perfect recipe for an unforgettable challenge, and it’s drawn me back every year since 2016.

Living and working locally, I spend my spare time running this route. As an active army reservist, the camaraderie I experience—both through military service and the race—is unparalleled. I’m proud to support the event as a Ring O’ Fire ambassador, helping to organise recce runs and welcome new runners to the course.

2026 will mark my 10th Ring O’ Fire anniversary, and I’m hoping to complete my 8th lap 🤞🤞. Recce runs keep me motivated—they offer just as much insight and inspiration as they did when I was a first-timer. I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you all on the start line.
