The Ring O' Fire thrives thanks to our resolute team of volunteer marshals, including family, friends, and past participants. Their local knowledge and enthusiasm drive our runners from checkpoint to checkpoint. Many marshals return year after year, and we couldn't do it without them.

Interested in getting involved?
We’re always looking for volunteers to join the Ring O’ Fire family. Whether you’re helping at the start line, manning checkpoints, or joining our safety or logistics teams, we’d love to hear from you. Supporting an international ultra running event is an unforgettable experience.
Volunteer Requirements
We’re particularly interested in marshals who have:
- Enthusiasm: A cheerful outlook and excitement for the event to motivate runners.
- Dependability: Reliability to stick to assigned tasks and show up on time.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage unexpected situations and think on your feet.
- Empathy: Understanding and compassion towards runners’ struggles and needs.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication to assist runners and coordinate with other marshals.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stay on your feet and active for extended periods.
- Team Spirit: Working well with others to create a supportive environment.
- First Aid Knowledge: Basic first aid skills for handling minor injuries and emergencies.
- Transport and Connectivity: Own transport, mobile phone, and access to WhatsApp

14-hour Commitment:
Guaranteed place in the Firelighter race the following year.
24-hour Commitment or more:
Guaranteed place in the Ring O’ Fire race the following year, or the Firelighter if preferred.
