The Challenges

Ring O' Fire

Ring O' Fire is a coastal ultra marathon which takes runners on an extraordinary 135 mile journey around the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. The epic foot race is staged over three consecutive days and follows the rugged and spectacular Anglesey Coastal Path.

Almost the entire coastline of Anglesey has been designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". Set against the dramatic backdrop of Snowdonia mountain range, runners will challenge themselves in some of the most awe inspiring coastal scenery in the British Isles.

Beauty aside, the extreme distance and variable terrain has sealed the race's reputation as one of the most challenging ultra marathons in the British Isles.

Sign-up to the tenth edition of the race which takes place 3rd September - 5th September 2021.

Or sign-up as a charity runner and raise money for a great cause! This year we are offering a limited number of charity places and have partnered with four leading charities, Bowel Cancer UK, the Stroke Association, Sands Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society and the Afghan Sports Trust.

Free entry* for charity runners - you only pay a £50 registration fee, which is refunded in full, if you attempt the ROF challenge and meet the minimum £500 fundraising target. (*Upon completion of the challenge the charity pays your entry fee from the funds you have raised). See our Charity Runner page for further info.

Firelighter

Since 2017, we have been offering runners the chance to run Day 1 of the Ring O' Fire as a separate race. If you prefer a single stage race over a shorter distance this may be the race for you. This 35.7 mile race is a very challenging ultra marathon in its own right. We call it the Firelighter!

Sign-up to the fifth edition of the race which takes place 3rd September 2021.

The Ring Of Fire

Love is A Burning Thing
And it Makes A Fiery Ring
Bound By Wild Desire
I Fell Into A Ring Of Fire

I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire
I Went Down, Down, Down
And The Flames Went Higher

And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire

What do people say about us?

"Having said that it would never have been as enjoyable had your army of volunteers not been so energetic, friendly & motivating throughout the 3 days. I remember thinking they were like lemmings and just popped up when you desperately needed a lift. (except for the photographer who seemed to have a knack of catching you at your worst moment)"
