Exciting changes ahead for the Ring O' Fire!

Hi everyone! We've got some exciting news to share. We've been a bit quiet since the incredible Ring O' Fire race weekend back in August, but we've been working on some updates to the race format.

New Race Format, New Adventures!

Ring O' Fire

The backbone of our event series since 2012 and beloved by many. The essence remains with approximately 130 miles over three days along the stunning Anglesey Coastal Path, but it's now evolving into a non-stop endurance race. Faster runners can push on without stopping, while others can rest at designated checkpoints along the way. Expect increased cut-off times, revamped checkpoint locations, and more support for this great adventure. We're finalising details but anticipate up to 48 hours to complete the course.

Firelighter

Since 2017, this non-stop race has carved its way along the dramatic northwest section to Amlwch. Now, it’s extending to the beautiful coastal village of Moelfre, making it just shy of 50 miles. Look forward to increased cut-off times and some revamped checkpoint locations. Again, details are being finalised, but expect a cut-off time of around 14 hours.

Event Dates for 2025

Ring O' Fire: 29-31 August 2025

Firelighter: 29 August 2025

The Challenges

Ring O' Fire

Ring O' Fire is a coastal ultra marathon which takes runners on an extraordinary 135 mile journey around the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. The epic foot race is staged over three consecutive days and follows the rugged and spectacular Anglesey Coastal Path.

Almost the entire coastline of Anglesey has been designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". Set against the dramatic backdrop of Snowdonia mountain range, runners will challenge themselves in some of the most awe inspiring coastal scenery in the British Isles.

Beauty aside, the extreme distance and variable terrain has sealed the race's reputation as one of the most challenging ultra marathons in the British Isles.

Sign-up to the fourteenth edition of the race which takes place 29th August - 31st August 2025.

Or sign-up as a charity runner and raise money for a great cause! This year we are offering a limited number of charity places and have partnered with five leading charities, Bowel Cancer UK, the Stroke Association, the Afghan Sports Trust, Petals Charity and St David's Hospice.

The Stroke Assocation

Firelighter

Since 2017, we have been offering runners the chance to run Day 1 of the Ring O' Fire as a separate race. If you prefer a single stage race over a shorter distance this may be the race for you. This 35.7 mile race is a very challenging ultra marathon in its own right. We call it the Firelighter!
